August daily prayer

31 Aug 2020

Day 1

Give Thanks In Everything

Luke 17 v 11 -19.
Jesus said  “...... were  there not ten men who were healed, where are the other nine?Ten were healed but only one man came back to offer gratitude.  What do you think of people who never appreciate your kindness,  those who show up when they have a problem?
This is the same way we treat our God. We show up when we have problems. We think of God when life presses us down. We go to God only when we need satisfaction and we never return to appreciate his kindness. In the scripture we have read Jesus healed ten but only one returned to say Thank you. May we become that one today. It is a good thing to give thanks to the Lord. Let's count our blessings  one by one this week. We must not just praise and offer thanks giving when only there is a reason to do so; how about when you are in that valley? How about when you are gracefully broken? How about in times when things are not going your way? How about in those times when it’s hard to see the forest in the midst of the trees?

Rev 21:5  “ Behold, I am making all things new”
2 Cor 5:17 “.... the old one has passed away; behold, the new has come” so let’s thank him without ceasing because as children of God  we know that it is in our darkest times that we are made new.

Even the bible teaches us to give thanks in all circumstances. So brethren let’s learn to thank him even in the midst of the storm. We should offer praise and thanksgiving at all times. Let’s be mindful to thank God for all the blessings in our lives and for showing us favour. Thank God for the small things. Thank God even for the storms in your life. The flesh look for things to complain about but the spirit searches for reasons to to give glory even in the midst of everything

Brethren,”It is one thing to know God and it is one thing to acknowledge Him”.

PRAYER :God we thank you for your goodness and faithfulness.  We thank you for your divine presence. We thank you for sparing our lives  and that of our families during this pandemic. We thank you  for making us bold and stronger than we were yesterday. We thank you for your everlasting love towards us.
Lord give each and every one of us a thankful heart. May we offer thanks giving in all circumstances. Amen.

Day 7

God’s Protection
The light of God surrounds me.
The Love of God enfolds me.
The presence of God watches of me.
The mind of God guides me.
The Laws of God protect me.
The power of God abides within me.
The joy of God uplifts me.
The strength of God renews me.
The beauty of God inspires me
Wherever I am, God is.

‭‭2 Thessalonians‬ ‭3:3‬ ‭NLT‬‬

“But the Lord is faithful; he will strengthen you and guard you from the evil one.”

Dear Heavenly Father

We pray for Your protection as we begin this day. You are our hiding place, and under Your wings we can always find refuge. Protect us from trouble wherever we go, and keep evil far from us. No matter where are, we will look to you as our Protector, the one who fights for us every day.

Your love and faithfulness, along with Your goodness and mercy, surround us daily, so we will not fear whatever might come against us as children of God. Our trust is in You, God, and we give you thanks and honour for Your love and protection.

Day 6

Lamentations‬ ‭3:31-33‬ ‭NLT‬‬

“For no one is abandoned by the Lord forever. Though he brings grief, he also shows compassion because of the greatness of his unfailing love. For he does not enjoy hurting people or causing them sorrow.”

Breathe. You’re going to be okay. Breathe and remember that it's a phase and it will pass. Breathe and know that you can survive this too. These feelings can’t break you. They’re painful and debilitating, but you work through them and eventually, they will pass. Maybe not immediately, but sometime soon, they are going to fade and when they do, you’ll look back at this moment and laugh for having doubted your resilience. I know it feels unbearable right now, but keep breathing, again and again. This will pass. I promise it will pass.”

‭‭ Dear Heavenly Father
I surrender every single individual on this platform going through the different stages of grief. May you be their comforter in this difficult time. May you show them and fill their hearts with unconditional love. May you send healing upon their lives right now. Also, God may you take away the thoughts of them doubting you, in this painful season in their life's. I pray that they continue to serve you and that they don't backslide. We silence any voices from the enemy, as they are vulnerable in this time.
In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, I pray

Day 5
When I say, “I am a Christian”
I’m not shouting, “I’ve been saved!”
I’m whispering, “I get lost sometimes
That’s why I chose this way”
When I say, “I am a Christian”
I don’t speak with human pride
I’m confessing that I stumble –
needing God to be my guide
When I say, “I am a Christian”
I’m not trying to be strong
I’m professing that I’m weak
and pray for strength to carry on
When I say, “I am a Christian”
I’m not bragging of success
I’m admitting that I’ve failed
and cannot ever pay the debt
When I say, “I am a Christian”
I don’t think I know it all
I submit to my confusion
asking humbly to be taught
When I say, “I am a Christian”
I’m not claiming to be perfect
My flaws are far too visible
but God believes I’m worth it
When I say, “I am a Christian”
I still feel the sting of pain
I have my share of heartache
which is why I seek God’s name
When I say, “I am a Christian”
I do not wish to judge
I have no authority
I only know I’m loved

‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭6:10-12‬ ‭NLT

“A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.”
Dear heavenly Father
Our prayer today is for strength to weather any storm that comes our way in this Christian walk. We all have our imperfections, but you still love us. We struggle with our Christian walk but you have a way to help us conquer that. Heavenly Father help us to put on your full armour so that we can remain standing against the strategies of the enemy. With your help anything is possible.

Day 4

Do you seriously think God can't use you?
Noah  was a drunk.
Abraham  was too old.
Isaac was a daydreamer.
Jawho was a liar.
Joseph was abused.
Moses had a stuttering problem.
Gideon was afraid.
Samson had long hair and was a womanizer.
Rahab was a prostitute.
Jeremiah and Timothy were young.
Davidwho affair and was a murderer.
Elijah was suicidal.
Isiah preached naked.
Jonah ran from God.
Naomi was a widow.
Job went bankrupt.
Peter denied Christ.
The disciples fell asleep while praying.
Martha worried about everything.
The Samaritan woman was divorced.
Zaccheus was too small.
Paul was too religious.
Timothy had an ulcer.
Lazarus was dead.
And yet all these people had big roles to play in the Bible.

‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭1:26-29‬ ‭NLT‬‬

“Remember, dear brothers and sisters, that few of you were wise in the world’s eyes or powerful or wealthy when God called you. Instead, God chose things the world considers foolish in order to shame those who think they are wise. And he chose things that are powerless to shame those who are powerful. God chose things despised by the world, things counted as nothing at all, and used them to bring to nothing what the world considers important. As a result, no one can ever boast in the presence of God.”

Dear heavenly Father
I know we are quick to judge each other. For judging someone is easier than understanding. Understanding requires compassion, patience and willingness to believe that we as the children of God make mistakes. Heavenly Father help us accept each other for who we are, instead of judging each other help us pray for each others problems and downfalls. Help us to not think of other people as inferior or not fit to do your work, Lord. Please remove that way of thinking, from us.

Day 3

God knows best

I asked God for strength and God gave me difficulties to make me stronger.
I asked for wisdom and God gave me problems to solve.
I asked for prosperity and God gave me brawn and brains to work.
I asked for courage and God gave me dangers to overcome.
I asked for patience and God placed me in situations where I was forced to wait.
I asked for love and God gave me troubled people to help.
I asked for favour and God gave me opportunities.
I received nothing I wanted.
I received everything I needed.

Proverbs‬ ‭16:9‬ ‭NLT‬‬

“We can make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps.”

Dear Heavenly Father
I know that it is you and only you who posses the power to direct my steps. I pray that my plans would align with your plans for my life . I know and trust that the plans you have for me are good. I pray that you direct each and every one of my steps, allowing me to be influenced by the spirit and your grace. May all my steps glorify your name and may I never doubt the plans You have for me.

Day 2

Romans‬ ‭12:2‬ ‭

“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.”
”Discernment is not simply telling the difference between what is right and wrong; rather it is the difference between right and almost right”
Charles H Spurgeon

Dear Heavenly Father
We adore you, we seek your counsel, we call upon the holy spirit. To help us discern, as nothing escapes your sight. Guide us, Lord, let us be knowledgeable of your ways. We ask for a sound mind and your wisdom oh Lord. Help us identify any presence of the enemy trying to tempt us or trap us into the sin of pride and vanity. Set us free from our flesh, so our spiritual eyes can be opened. May your holy spirit fill us up and take control so we can walk in obedience. Without your guidance Lord, it's easy to go astray. God help us to always seek you in truth and in spirit.

In the mighty name of Jesus, I pray

Day 1

Proverbs‬ ‭3:5-6‬ ‭NLT‬‬

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.”

Reflection: We as Christians tend to want to hold on to our problems and try and fix them ourselves by our own strength and might. By doing that we are holding onto burdens we are not supposed to carry. If you surrender your burden to the Lord and TRUST that the good Lord will show you your path. Doing this will make you feel lighter because God is in control.

Dear Heavenly Father
Thank you for your unfailing grace. Please help us to let go of things that we need to leave in the past and to start moving forward with faith. May we always see your hand at work in our future and trust you with every tomorrow. We don't know what the future holds, but we do know that you will be beside us whatever may come. Please remove the pain of whatever burden we carry. Replace it with hope. Give us the wisdom we need to see the light on our path and grant us the courage to follow your voice.
In the name of Jesus, we pray

Standing on the promises of God

Joshua 1: 5

"No man will be able to stand before you all the days of your life Just as I have been with Moses, I will be with you; I will not fail you or forsake you.”

This is the promise that God gave to Joshua when he led the children of Israel out of captivity in Egypt and into the Promised Land. This same vow still rings true for us today. Isaiah 41:10 “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” God is always with us, and his promise are Yes & Amen 2 Corinthians 1:20. It all comes down to a matter of our faith in God’s word, trusting in him and believing the truth of his scripture.

As humans we all at times we moan and complain at the circumstances we may find ourselves in, or try and fulfil Gods plan and purpose for our lives But we must understand that only God can fulfil these promises and his word is true and His faithfulness is everlasting.  For he has promised, no one will be able to stand against us for as long as we live Romans 8:31. God will always be with us, just as he was with Abraham and Israel; with Moses and David  and with Peter and Paul.

The battles that Israel faced when they entered the Promised Land were physical battles, fought with spears and swords, but we must remind ourselves that the weapons we fight with, are not the weapons of this world. Rather, they are spiritual weapons, which will defeat all our enemies, and these weapons are all forged in Christ, Ephesians 6:11.

Prayer Point
Father we believe in your word and say that indeed no evil will befall us.

Day 4

The Dry Bones Live

Ezekiel 37:1-3, “The hand of the Lord came upon me and brought me out in the Spirit of the Lord, and set me down in the midst of the valley; and it was full of bones . . . and He said to me, ‘Son of man, can these bones live?’ So I answered, ‘O Lord God, you know’ ”.

We are reminded that God must never be underestimated. Genesis 18:14 God proclaimed to Abraham “is there anything too hard for the Lord?” God also poses the same question to Jeremiah (32:27) “Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh. Is there anything too hard for Me?”

The situations we encounter and the hardships we endure can leave us feeling hopeless or even empty and we may at times believe and behave like ‘dry bones’. The word of God holds power to bring back what is ‘dead’ back to life. We must prophesy over our situations and speak life over our lives, in Jesus name.

There is life in the prophetic word, we speak life through Faith, Prayer and Fasting. As long as we believe that God CAN,… He WILL. Mathew 17:20, if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you can move mountains…. nothing will be impossible for you. God wants us to dig deeper into our faith, the kind of faith that surpasses all understanding.

We must hold on to our faith through any season we find ourselves in, we must lay down our burdens and speak life over our situations. Only God has the power to revive our ‘Dry Bone;

Prayer Point
Farther God, I pray that in times of hardship we don’t lose sight of our faith in you. You are our Jehovah our provide, and our healer. God I pray that we speak life over our lives and have faith that surpasses all understanding, in Jesus name, Amen.

19 Aug 2020

Day 3

God Plans For Us

We should always trust
God all the time, and having faith in the Lord is to get assurance, even when thing go wrong. Gods’ plans will always prevail in our lives and these plans are for our best interest. Jeremiah 29:11 says For i know the plans I have for you “declares the LORD,” plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans  to give hope and a future.

God always wishes the best for us. Our future is unknown to us but God knows our future. He leads us, guide, and paves and straightens our life’s journey if we have faith in Him. Proverbs 3: 5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all ways submit to Him , and he will make path straight.

We make plans, but God continuously watches and scrutinise these plans to ensure that they are fullfiled. We should therefore trust in the Lord He has unfailing love for us. Psalm 62: v 8 Trust in Him at all times, oh people ; pour out your heart before Him; God is a refuge.

Prayer Point
Lord we thank you that the plans you have are better than our plans.

We thank you for your promises of peace, hope and better future.

18 Aug 2020

Over coming suffering

Day 2

Peter: 5:10
But May the God of all Grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after we have suffered a while, make you perfect, establish, strengthen and settle you.
God is always there in our lives. Having “called us” through the Grace of his son, our Lord, Jesus Christ.

We are forgetful at times that we are, where we are in life through Grace, we may tend to, then use our Gods given strengths, whether intellectually, financially or capabilities to control or subdue others. Let us never forget that we were called, and a great price was paid for answering the call. 1 Corinthians 6: 20 For you are bought with a price, therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit which are Gods.

We should remain faithful to him in our way of being, giving back to those we recognise to be less fortunate than our selves in an sphere where we may be gifted by God.
Life’s journey maybe an undulating terrain, it is only a truly faithful being who cling to God’s direction without fear and with an open heart takes all his or her stride. This gift of accepting God’s will in everything seems a daunting feat but true deep Faith, all life’s deliverance are graceful accepted and the power to cope and react appropriately lies with heeding God’s call to us. Romans 8: 28, And we know that to them that love God all things work together for good even to them that are called according to the will of God.

He does know our strengths and limitations. Any life without any challenges is a fully existence, not even worthy to be called ‘living’ it is though the worst of our troubles that our strength as Gods children is truly tested. We triumph and overcome though a deep Faith and trust in His guidance.

Prayer point
Pray that God  strengthen and establish us even as we pass through all these trials and tribulations both now and in the future.

17 Aug 2020

Day  1. Gods Direction

Isaiah 30:21- Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way; walk in it. We are all going through a process with the hope of accomplishing the journey. God always promises to point us in the right direction, he would never lead his children, those of us who choose to heed his voice, in the wrong direction. So it is for us to listen to the Voice which speaks or whispers behind us and and we will be assured of desired accomplishment.

Isaiah 45:2 I will go before thee, and make the crooked places straight, I will break in pieces the gates of bronze and cut in the bars of iron.

How blessed are we , when we heed His direction as his Promises are not in vain when he says “ I will make the crooked places straight “ what  we’re being promised is an even, smooth path on which we can travel. And he continues “I will break in pieces the gates of bronze and cut the bars of iron...” Here God is promising us true freedom, freedom from the shackles of life. At times we can be so entranced on our self-made iron gates and imprisoning bars, life can become an uphill struggle as we focus on material accomplishments and gains. While it is a good thing to be blessed with these earthly possessions they bring temporary comforts, they can not and should not usurp the place our spiritual path and growth. We should always remember that the spirit in us is the greater being, deserves a rightful place within the Kingdom... hence God promises to free us from the things which may bind our Spirits. The mortal body eventually dies but, the spirit lives on...

God promises us that our path is safe if we heed his voice and trust in his Guidance.
Prayer point:

Pray for spiritual ears to hear God as he is always speaking to us.
Pray to be obedient to His word.

Day 6 ;Spiritual

God has not forgotten that our spiritual beings need nourishing and we may fall short from time to time.

John 15: 1-17 “I am the true vine, and my Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in me that does not bear fruit he takes away, and every branch that does bear fruit he prunes, that it may bear more fruit. Already you are clean because of the word that I have spoken to you. Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me. I am the vine; you are the branches.

Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. “ God will take care of us in the times that we fall short, as long as we put our faith and trust in him. We can not bear fruit with out his spiritual nourishment , so I encourage you to stay faithful and strong because God has not forgotten you.

James1:2 “Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds,” with the knowledge that we are blessed we should count all our trials as joy because we have been gifted eternal life and the love of a generous God.

Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through him who strengthens me.”  We can be encouraged that we simply have an advantage as Christians, that the Father that loves us unconditionally and promises us the strength needed to get through our spiritual battles.

Prayer points:
1. May we pray for spiritual nourishment and that when we are fortunate enough to be offered it we may accept with willingness.

2. May we be spiritual warriors for those who need a helping hand.

3. May we be reminded that others are going spiritual battles that we may not see, and keep them in our prayers.

14 Aug 2020

The theme of this week will be ‘God does not forget as people do’
Day 5

God has not forgotten that we all need family, and family can be genetic, spiritual. We are adopted into Gods family when we receive Gods spirit at salvation. May we pray for God to protect the sacred family form of relationships and that it may be a haven for us to turn to and keep us grounded.

Ephesians 1:5
“God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure.” God made us His sons and daughters by adopting us into his spiritual family. We were given the same rights as children born into that family through Jesus Christ.

1 Timothy 3: 2-5
“2 Now the overseer is to be above reproach, faithful to his wife, temperate, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach, 3 not given to drunkenness, not violent but gentle, not quarrelsome, not a lover of money. 4 He must manage his own family well and see that his children obey him, and he must do so in a manner worthy of full respect. 5 (If anyone does not know how to manage his own family, how can he take care of God’s church?)” The bible emphasises the importance of family, and how living by example, faithfully serving God, can be demonstrated in your family.

1 Timothy 5: 8
“ Anyone who does not provide for their relatives, and especially for their own household, has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.” The bible suggests that those who bring trouble on their own family or don't take care of their family members will inherit nothing but disgrace. So, let us be reminded this week about our responsibilities towards our family.

Prayer points:
1.    God may you give us the grace to lead by example in our family.

2.    God may you grant us peace within our families.

3.    God may you protect and keep our families in your light.

13 Aug 2020

The theme of this week will be ‘God does not forget as people do’

Day 4; Friendships

God has not forgotten as people we need companionships. A good friend can be the greatest gift from God.

John‬ ‭15:12-14‬ ‭‬‬ “My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. You are my friends if you do what I command.” We are compelled to love one another as we love ourselves.

Job 42:10 "When Job prayed for his friends, the LORD restored his fortunes, giving him twice as much as before." When we follow Gods command to love, this pleases Him and the rewards are greater.

1 Peter 4:8-10 "Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins. Show hospitality to one another without grumbling. As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace."  Be the friend that gets people through hard times and treats others with compassion as this as Christians is what our God calls us to do.

Prayer points:
1.    God may we understand the definition of friendship and help us to be good friends to others.

2.    God may you open our hearts to be generous kind to those who we may not consider friends and to remember that you asked us to ‘love your neighbour as you love yourself’

12 Aug 2020

The theme of this week is ‘God does not forget as people do’

Day 3;Physical ailments

God has not forgotten that some of us has a form of physical ailment, may it a broken limb, an achey ankle etc. God has not forgotten about physical sufferings

James 5:14-15 "Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven."  The Bible speaks often of miraculous healing through faith in God. Our Lord is able to provide healing for us and our loved ones.

Jeremiah 17:14 "Heal me, O Lord, and I will be healed; save me and I will be saved, for you are the one I praise." Many know what it is like to live with a disorder, illness, or chronic pain we all need healing in some way or another, the faith that by seeking Gods healing you have received it can heal you.

Exodus 23:25 Worship the LORD your God, and his blessing will be on your food and water. I will take away sickness from among you…" The Word of God can be your source of divine healing.

Prayer points:
1. May we pray for healing of our own ailments.
2. May we pray for other peoples healing, may it be physical or otherwise.

11 Aug 2020

The theme of this week will be ‘God does not forget as people do’

Day 2; Financial
God has not forgotten about our financial needs. I encourage you to trust that the lord will always provide just enough of what you need.

Philippians 4:19 "And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus." God is faithful he will supply your needs, just like He promised.

Acts 20:35  "In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: 'It is more blessed to give than to receive.'"  With finance we also have to give, whether it is charity or during tithes. Giving sets us free, and can change the lives of others. Sometimes we have to give so the
blessings are brought back to us (Luke 6:38).

Prayer points:
1. May God continue provide as he has done in the past, present, and may He continue to the future also.
2. May God open up our hearts to give, like the saying charity begins at home.

10 Aug 2020

The theme of this week will be ‘God does not forget as people do’

Day 1; Work/school

God has not forgotten that most of us attend educational institutions or have to work to provide for ourselves and family.

Colossians 3:23    “Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men” Our work is not ultimately done for the people around us, but for the glory of our God.

2 Corinthians 10:13–16  “We, however, will not boast beyond proper limits, but will confine our boasting to the sphere of service God himself has assigned to us, a sphere that also includes you. We are not going too far in our boasting, as would be the case if we had not come to you, for we did get as far as you with the gospel of Christ. Neither do we go beyond our limits by boasting of work done by others. Our hope is that, as your faith continues to grow, our sphere of activity among you will greatly expand, so that we can preach the gospel in the regions beyond you. For we do not want to boast about work already done in someone else’s territory.”

God places us in an area where we can have influence. Maybe the reason you may be in an office/ classroom with non-believers and is so that you can be the one inspire the ones around you. God is at work/school in you as much on Monday morning as he is at work/school in you on Sunday morning.

Prayer points:
1. God grant us patience to deal with our co-workers, teachers, classmates etc.
2. God grant us motivation and vision for our futures in the workplace and places of study.
3. God help us inspire those around us in these environments.

8 Aug 2020

Day 6.

My Bible and I

The relationship that God seeks for us  is clearly spelt in the Bible .

Individually we are at different levels  of this understanding as we revive, review , renew. I am grateful for this treasure that ‘God gave without measure’ John 3:34
Therefore as I read , talk , meditate on it all the time am  assured of its success for others see.

John 1:7

7 Aug 2020

John 5v39-40. Jesus said to the Bible experts. "You study the Scriptures dilligently because you think that in them, you have eternal life... yet you refuse to come to me to have (eternal)life." That is precisely what we should avoid doing. Some people study, quote and  interpret the Bible to justify their evil deeds. You hear them say Moses killed an Egyptian beating an Israelite (Exod 2v11-12) or king David stole Uriah's wife, so it may not be acceptable but God understands when l do the same.

Also, we RANDOMLY pick verses and inevitably come to wrong conclusions like the deeply troubled man who, in attempts to seeking solutions from the Bible for his troubles, vowed to randomly open the Bible 3 times and implement whatever the first verse he read said. His 1st random verse was Mat 27v5-'then Judas went away and hanged himself.' His 2nd random verse was Luke 10v37- 'Go and do likewise.' His 3rd random verse was John 13v27 -'What you are about to do, do it quickly.' His random Bible study verses guiding him were- Judas went away and hanged himself, go and do likewise and do it quickly!
The moral of the story is, avoid random Bible studies lest you come to the wrong conclusions.

So what are the best ways of studying the Bible? 2ndTimothy 2v15 says 'Carefully study to show yourself approved to God...rightly handling the word of God.'

As a Christian you should-
1.-Set aside time and plan for your study. It shows you are focused and organised.

2.-Pray to God for guidance and study with a strong desire to learn.

3.-Pick topics to study, being mindful that in the Old Testament, Christ is there but concealed and in the New Testament, Christ is revealed.

4.-OBSERVE/UNDERSTAND-who, what, where, when, how and why. This way you will find the Bible relevant to and answering your everyday life's questions from Genesis to Revelation.

5.-INTERPRET. lt is critical to -'Let scripture interpret scripture' to avoid misinterpretation. The Bible has answers elsewhere in the Bible to what you may not understand. Look for them.

6.-RESPONSE/APPLICATION- This is the ultimate purpose of a Bible study. What have you learnt about yourself and how are you going to change? Mathew 7v24-27
In conclusion, dont make Bible studies a theoretical academic exercise in futility.

Day 4-The Bible covers all occasions of our lives.

We are told God knew us before we were born. He made us in his own image and in a special way. Jeremiah 1v5. Gen 1v26-27.

He calls for children to  be allowed to come to Him, as the kingdom of heaven is theirs. Mathew19v4.

The Bible guides us on how children should be brought up and on how to discipline them should the need arise. Proverbs 13v24.
Psalms 127v3
Psalms 12v24

The Bible guides us on choosing the right friends, nurturing friendships and helping each other in difficult times.
Prov 27v17
Colossians 3v12
Prov 27v9

The Bible guides us in our family relationships. It instructs us to honour our parents and to love our neighbours as we love ourselves. It cherishes family bonds and encourages looking out for each other at all times.
Prov 17v17

We look to the Bible for guidance in marriage life from the beginning
Eph 4v12
When we despair, we turn to the Bible for solace and it tells us of His unwavering support if we turn to Him.
Psalms 71v5-6
Psalms 43v5

In death, God consoles the bereaved and heals broken hearts.  He gives hope to the dying by promising everlasting life.
Rev 21v4
Mat 10v28.

We thank the Lord for the Bible as it guides us  through life.
May the Lord give us understanding and knowledge on what is expected of us.
We have learnt of Gods’ love in the Bible. If only we can share this with our loved ones, friends and the world ....

Day 3   Theory of everything.

Scientists and researchers are always trying to discover the meaning of existence and the origins of life.

Gen 2v7 Whilst the Bible is not a science book full of theories, calculations and formulas, it has long simplified and explained what scientists are trying to discover and theorise. Whereas the Bible gives a factual historical account of what happened, science gives theories, assumptions and guesswork of what COULD/MAY OR MAY NOT have happened. That is a fundamental difference.

Job 26v7-'He stretches out the earth over empty space and He hangs the earth over nothing.'

Science only discovered centuries later that the earth is round and hangs on nothing.

We are told in Genesis 2v1 that God rested after the heavens and earth had been created. He had finished His work.

The First Law of Thermodynamics now proves that right and concurs that neither the earth/matter or energy can be created or destroyed. In othe

n other words, God rested because what He had created could not be changed.
The second law of dynamics says systems over time will become disordered. Psalms 102 vs 25-26, we are told that everything will wear out, but God will endure.

Jeremiah 33 v 22, tells us that the stars cannot be measured just like sand on the sea shore. Scientists now agree that stars cannot be counted and quantified.

Amos 9 v 6, tells us God calls for waters of the sea to pour on the face of the earth.  Scientists now name this as the hydrological cycle.

Almost all form of complex life has a male and female.  The evolution theory is still to theorise what came first.

Psalms 8:8 tells of paths in the sea that fish pass through. A scientist who lived in the 18th century who discovered the paths of the seas was duped The Pathfinder of the Seas.

Genesis 17v12  God ordered circumcision Of boy children  from eight days old.  Those in the medical profession know the clotting factor is only well established after day 8 from birth.

We can go on and on .

We thank you Lord for our Bible. When we read in earnest we find the answers to EVERYTHING,

Day 1.
This week we take a look at a very precious gift .
The BIBLE, a gift from GOD.

The Bible has different meanings and definitions to different people.
In Greek it simple means a collection of books. However this is no ordinary book. In 2nd Tim 3:16  we learn that It is GOD inspired, written through different individuals. It gives us knowledge on relationship between GOD and us.  It tells us of God’s purpose with all the creation.
In other  words  it is God talking   and telling us how it all started when God created Heaven and Earth.  Giving us principles and guidance on how to live our lives and Gods plan on making the Earth a better place in the end.
